Perspectives Along the Prime Meridian: Managing Water as a Commons in Ghana and England

In this ~40 minute collaborative and comparative talk, Everisto Mapedza (Senior Researcher / Social and Institutional Scientist at the International Water Management Institute West Africa office) will draw lessons from institutional experiences with irrigation commons in rural Ghana. John Powell (Senior research fellow, Countryside and Community Research Institute, University of Gloucestershire, UK), will be looking at water commons in the urban landscape of London. The aim is to draw lessons from institutional arrangements and show how water commons resources can be managed in both rural and urban settings.
