Back to the Roots: Discussing the Original Commons Debate in the Light of Recent Struggles for Commons

Location: HaSi (socio-cultural Centrum Halle (Saale)) Hafenstraße 7 / 06108 Halle (Saale)

Together with the New Plural Economies Initiative, human geographers and as well as everyone else who is interested in the topic we will discuss the debate concerning Commons at the HaSi. The basis for the discussion will be given by the publication “The Tragedy of the Commons” by Hardin (1968) and “Governing the Commons: Reflection on the Commons“ by Ostrom (1990). The goal is to add to these debates by discussing current social topics with a special focus on Halle (Saale). The event will take place in the non-commercial, self-organized, and socio-cultural Centrum HaSi – a perfect setting for a critical and exciting discussion.
